Workingfolio: Affordable websites for visual artists

December 9, 2010 Posted by workingdesign in Workingfolio

Visual artists need professional and affordable websites to show the world their work. At Working Design –as keen supporters of the arts and artists– we know that marketing is often well down the list of artist priorities.

That’s why we’ve developed a web template called Workingfolio especially for visual artists.

This affordable website solution:

  • shows artists’ work in a series of attractive galleries,
  • provides space for basic marketing information,
  • devotes a page to an artist biography and, if desired, another one for FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)
  • has room for a visual and / or verbal blog section

That describes the stripped down and basic model. We’re also busy working on a number of useful add-ons.

Workingfolio’s main features are low cost, a simple outline for all text and images and a Content Management System (CMS) that allows users to add their own material.

We’re able to keep costs down because most of the web programming is built in so clients won’t incur fees for expensive custom programming. And we’ve designed the template with an easy-to-follow outline for all the written and visual content.

Finally, we’re using the WordPress CMS to build Workingfolio. It’s an amazingly flexible CMS and very easy to use.

Workingfolio is in development and we’ll be launching it in the New Year. Call or email us if you want information. Or you can subscribe to our e-newsletter if you’d like to be included on the notification list.
